Can Portugal win the World Cup Qatar 2022?

The biggest dream of millions of Cristiano fans is to see their idol lift the glorious World Cup for Portugal. A dream every fan has in his heart for his idol to achieve, a dream that takes more than courage, talent, luck, or teamwork but all of those combined. If a player has the World Cup his career is automatically considered great. The World Cup is the most prestigious title out there as winning anything for your Nation is just ‘Priceless‘.

World Cup 2022 Qatar Odds: Portugal +1200 (8th Position)

The start of the journey for Cristiano and his fellow teammates has been very difficult. Portugal failed to directly qualify for the World Cup as they finished 2nd on the group table. The team had to get back the harder way by winning every single match in the World Cup qualification play-offs getting past other teams that are also desperate for a place in the World Cup.

People doubted them as there were other good teams including Italy in the playoffs and only one team can qualify. Portugal did it and now is on its way to the WC Qatar 2022.

The crucial area where Portugal has to manage a lot because conceding goals is what makes them lose titles. All the fans of Portugal have their firm trust in a long-time serving goalkeeper Rui Patricio. The AS Roma goalkeeper is very passionate about his country and always gives his 100% for Portugal. If Patricio is in form and fate is on their side he can be the perfect man for the Os Navegadores.

Rui Patricio has himself a great statue in Leiria for the astonishing save he made against Antoinne Griezmann during the Euro 2016 final against France.

There are other good options available for them such as Diogo Costa (Porto) and Rui Silva (Real Betis). The two players are decent and can be played in the upcoming WC but it’s not known if they are good against strong nations.

There is no defender better than an angry defender and Pepe is always angry. A massive amount of people believe that the duo of Sergio Ramos and Pepe has been the deadliest in the history of football. Pepe might be 39 but he can still defend better than most of the young players out there. Being the captain of this team he takes his responsibilities seriously and knows how to handle tough situations.

Portugal has other great defenders who will assist Pepe in defence. The man in form Joao Cancelo from Manchester City, Nuno Mendes from PSG and Diogo Dalot from Manchester United would be very beneficial for them as they can both stop the attack and create an attack for their team.

There are many other good defenders available for Portugal such as Raphael Guerreiro (Borussia Dortmund), Domingos Duarte (Granada), Jose Fonte (Lille) and Gonçalo Inácio (Sporting).

The main man in midfield is Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United) who has enough experience and talent to change the fate of Portugal. This team heavily relies on great talents available to them. The other great options that are most likely to start are Bernardo Silva (Manchester City), Joao Moutinho (Wolves), Ruben Neves (Wolves), Matheus Nunes (Sporting CP), Joao Palhinha (Sporting CP), William Carvalho (Real Betis) and Danilo Pereira (PSG).

The team needs to capitalize on this area of field if they want to win the WC as there is a lot of competition from other teams. It might not be a very big problem for them as they have a lot of great players playing in this area.

The attacking lineup consists of the Greatest Player Of All Time (GOAT) and that is enough for them to boost their confidence. The addition of Cristiano Ronaldo is a massive boost for them as he is the one who has changed the fate of this country with his hard work and dedication. The team heavily rely on Ronaldo to do his magic and somehow make them win crucial matches. He has done it many times in the past and he is expected to still make wonders happen even at the age of 37.

Cristiano is the best but the team also require other aggressive players if they want to win the ultimate title. The other reliable strikers that will start for Portugal in the WC 2022 are Diogo Jota (Liverpool), Rafael Leao (AC Milan), Gonçalo Guedes (Valencia), Joao Felix (Atlético Madrid) and Andre Silva (RB Leipzig).

Every area of Portugal is filled with great talents who are reliable and fans have high hopes for all of them to perform their best in the World Cup 2022. It won’t be easy for Portugal to win the World Cup Qatar but they can achieve this achievement.

Who will Portugal face first in World Cup 2022?

Portugal shares the group with Uruguay, South Korea and Ghana. The first match for Portugal would be against Ghana on 24th November, the second against Uruguay on 29th November and the third against South Korea on 2nd December.

Is this the last World Cup for Cristiano Ronaldo?

The Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo is 37 years of age and it will probably be the last World Cup for him. People can expect him to come back for his nation in future as a manager of the team.
