Xabi Alonso is set to be the new Borussia Monchengladbach coach in 2021

Xabi Alonso will be the new head coach of Borussia Monchengladbach after his contract ends with Real Sociedad this summer.

Dortmund has set their eyes on Marco Rose and they’re firm in their decision to make him their manager. Alonso will act as a replacement and this will be his first time managing a senior side in Germany.

Xabi Alonso is a calm and smart man who can steer the club to glory. Gladbach is having a bad season this year and they’re out of the Champions League after being trashed by CIty (4-0 aggregate), their Bundesliga standing is at the 10th position and it looks like they will miss Champions League action next year. A change might be the only thing they need right now as something’s not right.

Xabi has coached teams like Real Madrid, Real Sociedad, Eibar, and Bayern Munich throughout where he gained a lot of experience. Xabi’s career was a fruitful one in which he conquered the World Cup and the Champions League while playing under great coaches such as Benitez, Ancelotti, and Pep Guardiola.

If he gets success in Germany I can see him managing Madrid in the future. For now, this will be the biggest task for him to manage a side which were not doing their best in their last season.
