Complete Story Of Leicester City Legend Jamie Vardy

Back when there was no social media and high-performance electronic devices never existed there were a lot of incidents and real-life stories that remained unheard. Be it a tragedy with a woman working hard or an infant who does not know what happened to the family where he was born. Such realities of life and many stories never came out which had the potential of becoming a solid lesson for the society. Imagine growing up in such an environment where all family problems exist and more problems like financial issues are also present. It may be hard to imagine, but the personality we will be talking about is someone who saw and went through the same phase in his life and became a role model for many in this world.

Jamie Vardy was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. His parents are Richard Gill and Lisa Crewes, but his biological father walked out when Jamie was an infant. Looking at the condition of life his mom realized that she needed a new partner to grow a good family and take care of Jamie. She later married Phil Vardy and this is how Jamie got his surname ‘Vardy’.

He grew up in the inner region of Sheffield where he lived a very normal life as his father was a crane worker and his mother worked at a solicitor’s office. Being a football fan in childhood he loved and idealized David Hirst the Sheffield Wednesday striker. It would be interesting to know how this man developed himself into a professional football player and reached heights in the Football world.

The career of Jamie Vardy is much more different than many other players who made it big in the Premier League. He was not scouted at a young age nor did he have the means to join an academy that trained him to be the player he is. He is a great example of pure talent and determination as he paved his way into the football world.

Club Career Of Jamie Vardy:

The first step of Jamies’s football journey was the Sheffield Wednesday club where he started playing from the youth level. He played at Stocks Bridge Park Steel when he was 16 years old and made his sport into the results reserves earning 30 pounds a week. He never failed to prove himself and impressed the team with his performance and he later on turned down a short-term contract with Rotherham United.

The weak boy from a middle-class family started earning a good amount when he was signed by FC Halifax Town at a fee of 15000 pounds. Making his debut against Buxton, he scored a winning gold ending the match by 2-1. He had an outstanding season becoming the top goal scorer with 25 goals in 37 appearances and also won the Player’s Player of the Season.

After completing one year with heli fax he signed for conference premier club Fleetwood Town but the fee of his transfer remained undisclosed. Starting the season on a High note he started performing very well for the club and was scoring in almost every match he played.

The big break happened in 2012 when it was announced that he would be joining Leicester City at a reported fee of 1 million pounds. His first season with the club was not very good as he failed to perform at the level that he used to. It is difficult to settle in the Premier League if you are not used to handling the intense pressure. This made such a bad impact on his mind that he was also planning to leave football but was later convinced by his manager to continue with the club.

The next season changed a lot of things as he started the season on a very high note and established himself as one of the most incredible players in the league. The player performance was outstanding and he finished the season with 16 goals becoming the Lecister’s Player of the Season.

The 2015 season started with a bang as the team was winning back-to-back matches and Vardy scored a good number of goals for the team as well. On October 31 he became the third player to score in his eighth League match in a row in the Premier League. On 21 November he also matched a record of consecutive premier league matches with a goal when he scored against Newcastle United. He was performing so well and became an important part of the team that the manager declared him a permanent member of the team and regarded them as priceless cause he never wanted him to go to any other team.

There were various moments when he proved himself as a priceless player for the team and also won the BBC Goal of the Season award for scoring the goal against West Bromwich Albion.

Vardy scored a hat trick in a 9-0 win against Southampton. He completed his hundredth Premier League goal in 2020 in a victory over Crystal Palace. He won the Premier League Golden Boot for the first time in his career with 23 goals and he became the oldest player to win this award at the age of 33 years. He signed his contract with Leicester City till 2023 and scored another hat trick against Manchester City in a 5-2 win.

It is a massive achievement for any player to win the Golden Boot in the Premier League if they are not playing for the top 4 clubs. In the 2015-16 season Jamie Vary and Leicester City achieved the unthinkable and unimaginable goal, they won the Premier League setting the whole world in a state of shock. Vardy went on to win the FA Cup and the Community Shield for Leicester City and is still playing for them at the age of 36 bossing the attack like he never aged.

One thing that makes the story of Jamie Vardy different is that he not only helped his club win the Championship and get promoted to the Premier League but also helped them win the ultimate League title. In the English league, we have seen many players win consecutive league titles but none of them have a story similar to Vardy.

It was written in the stars for Leicester City to win the Premier League and show the world that the Premier League does not belong to a few clubs but any club can surprise them and take the title away.

However, he started only the final match against Belgium and reached the semi-finals for the third time in the history of the England football team. He decided to step away from the England national team considering this as his own decision for himself.

A Legend Of Leciester City:

Taking a deep look at his career it is evident that he started his career in a very small place and struggled a lot in his family facing something uncommon. He experienced days of hardships and his stepfather took the stand for him and did what his biological father refused to. Still, he worked hard and achieved a lot developing into a mentally strong man and a successful football player earning a good amount of money to support his family and fulfilling the dream of his parents.

We can see that his gameplay has been extremely well and he has been performing consistently for his team and the nation as well. Ignoring the ups and downs we can see that he has been consistent more than 90% throughout his career.

Leicester City will never forget Jamie Vardy and he will go down as a legend in the history books of Leicester City and the Premier League.
