Real Madrid's glorious 2009 transfer window

Come-back of Florentino Perez revolutionalized Real Madrid. A Quarter Billion Euros were spent on players of exceptional quality and talent. Cristiano Ronaldo the record goalscorer of Real Madrid was also purchased the same season. If Bargaining is a talent then Perez is the master of it.

Players Real Madrid managed to sign in 2009 :

1: Cristiano Ronaldo — Manchester United

2: Kaka —  AC Milan

3: Karim Benzema –OL

4: Xabi Alonso — Liverpool FC

5: Raul Albiol — Liverpool FC

6: Arbeola — Valencia CF

7: Ezequiel Garay — Racing CF

8: Granero — Getafe CF

9: Negredo — Almeria

Players who went on to make name’s for themselves and the club. For most of the players the first season was not that great as they required time to settle in but later this team won many titles for the club. No other club can match Real Madrid’s kind of European Success.

Perez was criticised for spending such a hefty amount of money but they didn’t know that it would prove beneficial economically in the longer run.

Real Madrid had to let go of some of their players too to manage the change in the squad.

Some Players that left Real Madrid in 2009 are :

1: Arjen Robben — FC Bayern Munich

2: Wesley Sneijder —- Inter

3: Ruud Van Nistelrooy — Hamburger SV

4: Klaas-Jan Huntelaar — AC Milan

5: Dani Parejo — Getafe FC

6: Miguel Torres — Getafe FC

7: Michel Salgado — Blackburn

8: Fabio Cannavora — Juventus

9: Javi Garcia — SL Benfica

10: Julien  Faubert — West Ham United

Real Madrid sent a clear message to their opponents that they are still lethal and they are ready for every new challenge they will face.

Real Madrid signed Kaka the Brazilian Balon D’Or winner from AC Milan for 65 Million Euros. Just three days after signing Kaka Madrid made their bid of 94M for Cristiano Ronaldo who was eager to join the spanish side. Manchester United accepted their offer and this was a record signing in the world of football. Indeed Real Madrid recovered every single penny they spent on Cristiano.

Some players performed well and some players didn’t. Kaka was one of the worlds best player at that time but after joining Madrid he couldn’t retain his form and it was negative move for him.

Overall this is the best transfer window of all time involving some of the great players to play the beautiful game. Real Madrid is expected to buy Kylian Mbappe and Haaland both. Can Perez repeat history? Can he get these two young footballers home? We never know lies ahead but with Florentino Perez anything is possible.

[…] transfer is unlikely to happen as Los Blancos only go for potential players and they never buy a player used by them in the past. […]

[…] Cristiano Ronaldo the Portuguese Captain tried his best but couldn’t find the back of the net. Portugal manager thinks that the result is unfair but he further says that it’s football and we have to deal with it. Cristiano scored 5 goals for his country earlier and he didn’t score one today but that doesn’t make him a bad player or a bad captain, he stood by his team throughout the match and tried the best of his ability but no luck.
