1. Grenoble ( 2005-08)

Olivier spent 5 years in the Grenoble U-20 team and developed himself as a footballer who could make a senior debut in the same club. In 2005 he was kept in the reserve team of the club and he scored 15 goals in 15 matches. His outstanding performance gave him a ticket into the senior club permanently where he made his debut in the 2006-07 season. He watched the first match as a substitute and made his debut against Niort in a 2-1 away defeat playing for 90 minutes. His first pro goal was on 26 February 2007 and named it as a memorable goal.

Having a decent first season in the senior team, he performed well and played more as a team player. He finally finished his campaign with a total of 26 appearances. This was also the season where he was issued a red card for the first time.

2. FC Istres ( 2007-08)

Olivier was loaned to Istres for the 2007-08 campaign.  He was there for the Champion National which is also the third level of football in France. His journey started with Istres in the second match where he scored a goal against Laval and won the match with a 2-1 score.

He also scored back-to-back goals in the matches against Venes and Creteil. His consistency was the key to his success in the campaign as he scored a goal in almost every match he played. He scored only 4 goals in the Istres home matches and celebrated the rest of the goals in away matches.

Completing the campaign and his loan period as well he returned to Grenoble in hopes of getting a good amount of matches to play as the club was in Ligue 1. 3. Tours Fc (2008-10)

In 2008, Giroud signed a 3-year contract with the Ligue 2 club Tours. Having a good relationship with the manager he was often heard thanking and paying gratitude to the manager Daniel Sanchez. His debut was in a match against Boulogne which was a 2-1 defeat in Coupe de La Liga. He scored 2 goals in the next league match and capped a 3-1 victory over Lens. 4. Montpellier (2010-12)

Officially signed his contract with Montpellier in 2010, and played his first match for the club in the UEFA Europa League. It was surprising to see Montepellier reaching the finals of the Coupe de la Liga. The star performer of the team extended his contract with Montpellier until 2014. Finishing games in class and proving himself every single league, Giroud played a major role in the success of the club after their upset years. Giroud helped Arsenal for a historic comeback against Reading, where they were at 4-0 and ended up winning the match 7-5 after the extra time. In March 2014 Giroud scored twice against Everton in the FA Cup Finals and scored a penalty in the semi-finals making a clear path for the team to enter the finals and Arsenal beating Hull City by 3-2 lifting the FA Cup. He also started the season with a 3-0 win over Manchester City. On his birthday in 2014, he signed a contract with Arsenal extending his stay till 2018.
