Life has been throwing stones on Sadio Mane yet he managed to dodge them and fight back to be among the best where he belongs. One of the main reasons behind Liverpool’s Premier League and Champions League victory.

Sadio Mane is a sincere Muslim who follows the principles of Islam better than most of the other Muslims around the world. Mane prays the 5 daily obligatory prayers plus supplementary prayers when he has time. The player made a large donation in building a mosque in his home country. Apart from that he also built a hospital and school in Banbali for the betterment of his people. I think all this is enough for a person to be considered great in any religion.

People think that doing all that is easy but it was not for Mane. The Senegalese player was born in a village with a passion for football. 

Life hit him hard and early when he lost his father at the age of 7 just like Kante. The news reached him when he was playing his favourite sport and he couldn’t believe that his father is no more. The father was Imam (Head) of the mosque and he along with his mother taught Mane good manners and a character that defines his career now. 

In the coming years, Mane pushed himself hard and moved to the city as he knew there would be no scouting in his village. The family of Mane was supportive and helped him move to the city where he landed a chance to play for Metz only for a brief period.

Things started to change for Mane as he bagged in a move to Red Bull Salzburg and won the Austrian Bundesliga plus the League Cup in the very next year. It was in Salzburg when he started to score more. Somehow Mane knew he have to move ahead of Salzburg if he wants to change his life. So he forced the transfer on the club and finally got an offer from Southampton.

It was difficult to start in England as he was not used to the rain and cold weather but he somehow managed it all. In his time at Southampton, he scored the fastest hat-trick in the history of Premier League against Aston Villa by scoring in just 2 minutes and 56 seconds. 

All this buzz helped him get a move to Liverpool where he reached his career-high and scored 106 goals for them since 2016. Klopp made him partner with Mo Salah and Firminho who went to score many goals making Liverpool the Premier League and European Champions. In all these years Mane has managed to give consistent performances for Liverpool and is likely to stay a little more in England. 

All the fame will not change Mane and he even rejects alcohol to this day “I won’t touch alcohol. Religion is very important to me. I respect the rules of Islam and I pray five times a day, always.” The best part about Mane is that he is humble and open to other religions and considers everyone to be a family.

No matter what happens in the future Sadio Mane will be a legend for Senegal and an inspiration for millions of people.
