Pedri Or Jude Bellingham? Who is the better player?

Young players are the hope of our future. Pedri and Bellingham are two highly talented individuals having massive potential to take their country reach great heights.

The people of England already rely on Bellingham who turned 18 in June 2021. On the other hand, Pedri was more helpful for Spain than any of their other senior players. The Barcelona man even made it to the Euro 2020 team of the tournament.

It is early to compare any player at the start of their career but when a player has a career like Jude and Pedri it is worth knowing that who is ahead. The two players are extremely young and so we will compare them on these criteria.

1: Personal Stats

2020 has been the year of these two exceptional players as people got to know about their talents and potential. Young players take time to master the art of goalscoring or passing. Bellingham (18) is an excellent dribbler with great goalscoring techniques. In the last season, she surprised everyone with his huge Champions League performance against Manchester City.

The Spanish wunderkind has been the backbone of Barcelona and Spain. Despite being young the team relied upon him for much of the part be it La Liga or Euro 2020. The player won the hearts and sealed a place in the minds of his critics as he played like an experienced player in every match.

Overall Career Statistics Until Now:

Pedri Or Jude Bellingham? Who is the better player?

Pedri being almost a year younger than Bellingham has very close stats and can catch up with him easily. The numbers of both these players are small as they did not play much or most of the games they were brought on after halftime. Even though Jude Bellingham is young he has more G/A than Pedri.

On the basis of the above-provided data, Jude Bellingham wins.

2: Titles

Early in their career, these two players did not win much for their teams. The two players just won a single domestic cup for their clubs. The Dortmund star won the DFB Pokal Cup while Pedri won the Spanish Cup.

Bellingham will likely move out of Dortmund in future and join an elite club from the Premier League just like Jadon Sancho. In the case of Pedri and Barcelona, they are under renovation and would require some years to again develop as serial title winners in La Liga and Europe.

The two players are equal in this category and it would be unfair to point out anyone when both of them won the same number of trophies.

3: International Career

In Euro 2020 England made it to the final where they lost to Italy. The contribution of Bellingham was not crucial for England as Southgate relies more on other talents available for the three lions.

Pedri has been the face of Spain right from his U-23 debut in 2020 where he won Silver in the Olympics 2020. Luis Enrique included him for Euro 2020 and he was the youngest Spanish player to represent his country in Euro. He was included in almost every match they played in Euro 2020 but their run was ended by Italy. The player won the Young Player of the tournament and also got his name booked in the Team of the tournament.

Both these players have played 10 games as an adult for their countries with similar stats. However, Pedri is far ahead in terms of contributing to his team.

Pedri Gonzalez is the winner in terms of their international career.

4: Individual Honours

Despite being young these two players have been rewarded with some awards for their contribution to the team.

Honours of Jude Bellingham

  • EFL Young Player of the Month: November 2019
  • Birmingham City Young Player of the Year: 2019–20
  • EFL Young Player of the Season: 2019–20
  • Bundesliga Rookie of the Month: September 2020
  • Kopa Trophy runner-up: 2021

Honours of Pedri Gonzalez

  • UEFA Champions League Breakthrough XI: 2020
  • UEFA European Championship Young Player of the Tournament: 2020
  • UEFA European Championship Team of the Tournament: 2020
  • Trofeo Aldo Rovira: 2020–21
  • Golden Boy: 2021
  • Kopa Trophy: 2021
  • IFFHS World’s Best Youth (U20) Player: 2021

Nobody can deny that Pedri has more awards to his name compared to Bellingham. Each award title is massive and there is no comparison between them in terms of individual honours.

5: Club

Pedri has been in Spain his whole life and has juggled between just two Spanish teams. The early career of Pedri isn’t well-decorated as compared to Musiala’s but he proved himself in Las Palmas before Barcelona set their eyes on him.

The club requires playmakers like Pedri after the departure of Lionel Messi. Pedri will get the first-team action this season for Barcelona as they need to rely more on the young players if they want to win titles.

Borussia Dortmund’s player Bellingham was born in West Midlands who joined Birmingham City’s youth academy at the age of 8. The player soon became the hero of this club as he was dominant in his midfield position.

He got offers from many elite clubs but he chose to join Dortmund just like his friend Sancho as they give young players a chance to show their potential, unlike other big teams. Since then he is a part of Dortmund where he continues to win the hearts of his fans.

Is Pedri better than Jude Bellingham?

The answer to this question is difficult as they are extremely young and they have tons of things to achieve in future.

Jude understands the modern dynamics of football and can play in any midfield position making him very effective. The player also possesses dribbling skills that help him in contributing towards his team or score goals himself. Overall he is an exciting prospect who is bound to win in future.

The Golden Boy of Spain had a remarkable year and was praised by everyone for his achievements. Unlike Bellingham, he can play in midfield and on the wing too. Even though he does not dribble a lot he still manages to be crucial from the midfield.

When it comes to winning Pedri is far ahead and lucky than Bellingham as he grabbed the Golden Boy and the Kopa Trophy award for him making him the second-best young player this year.

The England star is extremely talented and is expected to achieve more in future but as things stand Pedri is the winner.
