Two exceptional strikers who have achieved everything in their league and are already considered among the best of this generation. It is unfortunate that we did not get to see their late rivalry in Spain because of the forced retirement of Sergio Aguero.
The Argentine Sergio Aguero is certainly the greatest striker of the Premier League with unmatched stats while Karim has stayed long enough at Madrid to make him among the long list of legends Real Madrid possess.
🤩2 great players! You can pick only one!🤔

Aguero or Benzema? pic.twitter.com/uhjYrPj2ri
Sergio Aguero is known for scoring from tight angles where it is even impossible for other strikers to think about it. In his long career with Manchester City, he has proved his goalscoring abilities. Aguero is the highest scorer in the history of Manchester City and fourth highest in the history of the Premier League. All that is enough to understand how good he was in his prime.
On the other hand, the 4 times Champions League winner Karim Benzema has contributed greatly to Real Madrid too. Being a striker he holds the record for the most assists in the history of Real Madrid and he is also their fourth highest scorer of all time. The 2009 transfer window was certainly the best thing that happened to Real Madrid and their fans.
Overall Career Stats:
Despite playing 90 fewer matches than Benzema our Man City star still has more goals in his bucket. Great stats for a player who competed with the best in the prime era of Premier League. Benzema looks way ahead in assists as Cristiano was the main scorer of their team despite playing on the wing.
Sergio Aguero wins smoothly in this category.

Pep Guardiola and Aguero know about winning titles inside and out. Sergio Aguero is one of the key reasons behind the major success of Manchester City in the Premier League. He is the greatest striker in their history and also holds that title for the Premier League. The player won a total of 17 trophies in his career including 5 Premier League titles. To lift a single English title is an achievement and Aguero has five in his cabinet.
The Real Madrid striker has a lot more than Aguero under his belt. He won 28 titles for clubs in his career. The player won 4 Champions League titles, 2 La Liga, 4 Ligue 1, 4 CWC and many other titles. That is a lot of titles for any player.
Our Karim Benzema is way ahead of Aguero in terms of titles.

Karim Benzema got banned from the National Team of France for his involvement in a scandal. Despite being their player of the season thrice he was given this huge punishment. He was a big part of this team even before the addition of Antoinne Griezmann but unfortunately, he did not get to play for his country till 2021. In a span of months, he won the UEFA Nations League making the French people fall in love with him again. In his early days, he won the Euro U-17 with France and was the striking force of that team. However, some rumours suggest that his game time will again be affected in 2022 due to some controversies.
In the case of Aguero, he has fought a lot for his country. All the efforts finally paid off as they won the Copa America 2020. He also won an Olympic medal for Argentina in his youth.
It won’t be fair to compare these two on international performances as Benzema did not get to play for his country in most of his prime. However, as things stand Aguero wins in this category.

The players who make glories easy for their teams are often rewarded for their contributions. Benzema and Aguero have had their fair share of titles with their name on them. These two has been in the top 3 strikers list in the last decade and that has won them many honours.
Individual Honours Of Sergio Aguero
Aguero has won the prestigious Golden Boy award while Benzema has a plenty of awards for being the best French player. They look close in this category but in terms of numbers, Benzema is ahead of Aguero.

Both these strikers are masters in their position. Aguero is good at dribbling and running along the wing while Benzema uses his head more along with his poaching skills to score. Benzema uses stepovers and la croquetas to get past defenders while Aguero is fast and uses his speed to get past them.
One has some skills which the other doesn’t. If we combine the traits of these two players the outcome would break all goalscoring records. Even after all the comparisons above, I choose to end this debate as a draw for me.
If you like speed and skills then Aguero is your player or if you like intelligence and strength then Benzema is your player. The choice is yours.
