Ansu Fati or Jadon Sancho? Who is the better player?

The future of football looks promising with talents like Ansu Fati and Jadon Sancho ready to keep the beautiful game lovely by dominating other young players. These two stars have enjoyed their domination with their clubs although Fati is much younger than Sancho and has played a lot less compared to Sancho. Since the move of Sancho to the Premier League, his fame has tenfold increased. On the other hand, Fati captured the prestigious number 10 jersey of FC Barcelona which was famously used by Leo Messi making Fati the next big thing in Barcelona.

The fans of these two clubs often rate their man to be better than the other one. Let us compare them based on these stats & find out who wins among them.

1: Personal Stats

These two players are too young to have big numbers when it comes to personal stats as they are yet to hit their prime. The overall career G/A stats suggest that they are quite close but Jadon has scored more goals in his pro career compared to Fati who was also injured for most of the time in the last season.

2: Titles

These two youngsters are not the luckiest when it comes to winning titles even though their teams are known for winning big titles. Sancho won the German Cup, the German Super Cup with Dortmund and U-17 World Cup with England but is yet to lift anything with Manchester United. On the other hand, Ansu Fati won the Copa Del Rey in Camp Nou with Leo Messi in his last season.

Based on the number of titles won Jadon Sancho wins easily in this category.

3: International Career

Fati is yet to make his mark internationally. The player is too young and he will get more chances to prove himself. The player made a goal and an assist in the UEFA nations league. It would be wrong to judge Fati on this stage when he did not get the right exposure internationally.

It is a task for Southgate to choose the perfect XI from the number of talents he has on the bench. Jadon Sancho did get to play for England but did not win anything major yet in his international career. Despite coming close to winning the Euro 2020 the player is expected to make his mark internationally in future.

It would be unfair to point out a winner in this category but based on the amount of experience Sancho has along with the titles he won for the youth team he is the winner in this category too.

4: Individual Honours

The best way to decide on a better player is to check who has won more individual honours to his name. Any great player is always rewarded for his performance.

Honours Of Jadon Sancho:

  • UEFA European Under-17 Championship Golden Player: 2017
  • UEFA European Under-17 Championship Team of the Tournament: 2017
  • Bundesliga Goal of the Month: February 2019
  • Bundesliga Team of the Season: 2018–19, 2019–20
  • kicker Bundesliga Team of the Season: 2018–19, 2019–20
  • VDV Newcomer of the Season: 2018–19
  • VDV Team of the Season: 2018–19, 2019–20
  • DFB-Pokal top goalscorer: 2020–21

Honours Of Ansu Fati:

  • UEFA La Liga Revelation Team of the Year: 2019–20
  • La Liga Player of the Month: September 2020
  • IFFHS Men’s World Youth (U20) Team: 2020

The successful period Sancho had in Germany is the reason why he has so much more to his name at an early age. Fati can maybe work hard to overcome him but as of now, he is ahead of him in having titles with his name on them.

Conclusion:

The age difference between these two players is of 2 years, given the fact that Fati was recently injured for many months, it is understandable that he will not have the best stats after being away from football for so long. FC Barcelona fans understand the talent Fati posses and they are willing to give him a chance to make a name for himself inside the famous Camp Nou.

Our Manchester United man is the clear winner in all the categories, the move to Dortmund for shaping his career has paid off and now he is back in England.

The future of football is exciting as long as players like Ansu Fati and Jadon Sancho compete against each other.
